The St Jude’s Singers will present The Seven Last Words of Christ by Théodore Dubois at 4.00pm on Good Friday. This work reflects upon the seven words of Jesus from the cross.  Théodore Dubois was appointed choirmaster at the Basilica of Sainte-Clotilde in Paris where César Franck was organist.  On Good Friday in 1867 he first performed this work which soon became very popular.

Wednesday 28 February 2024, 1.15pm – Music for Lent including the Bach Dorian Toccata & Fugue, Barber Adagio for Strings, and other works by Bach and Telemann.

Composition performance

This Sunday 10 December 2023 at 4pm, the St Jude’s Chamber Choir is performing Brett’s Mass of the Incarnation, a choral Mass setting based on Christmas carol melodies. The service is at St Jude’s Church, Bendooley Street, Bowral. All welcome.

Organ recital 25 October, 1.15pm in Bowral

Organ recital Wednesday 25 October 2023, 1.15pm at St Jude’s Church, Bowral by Dr Brett McKern.

A is for Anniversaries: Franck is in the centenary year of his birth, and the concert features his Fantaise in A; and Byrd is in the 400th anniversary year of his death, and one of his keyboard works will be presented.

B is for Bach; and a Toccata will conclude the programme.
